The White Bull

Context

Cannon Hall Farm has grown over the years to become one of South Yorkshire's most popular attractions and one of the largest farm attractions in the UK. It's a beautifully presented working pastoral farm, designed with visitors in mind. Families have plenty to do, from the year round events to the outdoor and indoor play areas, as well as the farm shop and two restaurants serving up the farms own tasty meat and local produce.

The Brief

After many years of serving glorious breakfasts and hearty warming soups, the old tea room was being put to rest, extended and re-fitted ready to become the new rustic bistro restaurant; The White Bull.

The folks at Cannon Hall Farm wanted The White Bull's branding to be fresh, modern and striking, but at the same time, still able to reflect the heritage of the farm. After all, they named the new restaurant The White Bull after Grandpa Nicholson's prize-winning, beer-supping bull; Sam! On top of this, they wanted the new branding and all assets designed within three weeks. So, they approached the team at Script to see if we were up to the task...

The Concept

The brief was clear so we got to work preparing a logo based on the white bull himself, the logo was redrawn from an old photo of Sam. When they saw the concept they agreed that it tied in seamlessly with the rustic Cannon Hall Farm font and the architectural and interior design of the restaurant.

The Result

Once the logo was refined, we got to work designing everything from the restaurant signage to the menu boards through to the window decals. Though the turnaround was tight, this was a project we really enjoyed working on, getting to build a brand identity around a heartwarming and endearing story of the farm's family traditions, heritage, and of course good ole Sam!
